1. Face 2 Face (F2F, In Person) Education

  • All 35 certificates
  • Same time, same place; live
  • At the cohort classroom location or any geography supported by GIIM
  • Typically, 40 hours of class lectures per course (160 hours for the 4-course certificate); flexible schedules
  • These programs are scalable/flexible based on the target audience
  • Graded Certificate courses require candidates to prepare a comprehensive paper that applies the content of the course to the candidates’ job or career aspirations

GIIM works with affiliates

GIIM’s online learning management system provides distance learners with access to recorded lectures, interactive discussion groups, assignments, and tests. These programs are ideal for individuals seeking the flexibility to balance work and study from any location.

Synchronous online programs feature live class sessions that closely replicate the in-person learning experience.

Asynchronous programs enable students to engage with course materials, connect with peers and instructors, and complete assignments at their own pace—as long as they meet established deadlines.

Blended or hybrid programs integrate both asynchronous and synchronous elements, offering a balanced learning experience that combines scheduled live sessions with flexible, self-paced coursework.

2. Synchronous/Live Online

  • All 35 certificates
  • Same time, different place; also referred to as live, online, real-time
  • Like 1 above/face-to-face, but online using WebEx, GoToMeeting, Zoom, Adobe Connect, affiliate system, etc.
  • These programs are scalable/flexible based on the target audience
  • Typically 40 hours per course (160 hours for the 4-course certificate); schedule to be determined; usually twenty (20) 2-hour modules
  • Graded Certificate courses require candidates to prepare a comprehensive paper that applies the content of the course to the candidate’s job or career aspiration

3. Asynchronous/Pre-recorded Online

  • The most popular certificates
  • Any time, any place; self-paced
  • Uses GIIM’s Cloud via the SAP Litmos Learning Management System
  • 30 1-hour modules/lectures; 30 hours per course (120 hours for the 4-course certificate); some courses are a bit longer, others a bit shorter
  • Graded certificate courses require candidates to pass a multiple-choice examination at the end of each course

4 - 5 Two (2) Blended/Hybrid Models

We strongly encourage supplementing the 30+ hours of asynchronous, pre-recorded online lectures (3 above) presented by GIIM subject matter experts/faculty with one of GIIM’s two blended/hybrid models facilitated by GIIM or local faculty:

These hybrid/blended models: 

  • Supplement the GIIM asynchronous web lectures (3 above) with GIIM faculty (or local faculty prepared by GIIM) to facilitate/mentor/advise candidates (face-to-face or online) in class discussions & projects
  • Supplement the 30-hours of asynchronous online learning with 10 hours (for example, five 2-hour meetings; live) of synchronous classes
  • Can be offered via an innovative, completely self-paced asynchronous online blended model
  • Are graded by requiring candidates to prepare a comprehensive paper that applies the content of the course to the candidates’ job or career aspiration.
  • Leverage local faculty (non-GIIM faculty prepared by GIIM) to reduce tuition, plus take advantage of local faculty cultural and economic expertise
