Organizations, regardless of their size, cannot function without IT enabling/driving every activity, from traditional back-office systems to strategic services that interact with customers and external partners.  Accordingly, our global IT trends research demonstrates that there is strong demand for IT professionals (available from service providers and commercial organizations) prepared to engage in developing new services, troubleshooting problems, performing maintenance & help desk support, and keeping systems running efficiently & effectively. IT has quickly become a top priority for businesses across every industry. So much so that IT roles are no longer just the purview of the IT department. Every business unit has a stake in the IT services, apps, networks, hardware, and software needed to meet business goals and objectives, and many of them are hiring their own technologists.

Global IT Trends

The war for talent has moved beyond the technology industry, with other verticals vying for talented IT workers who have the skills to enable digital transformation, process improvement, change management, and the development of apps and services. As the demand for tech talent grows in industries beyond tech, salaries are on the rise in fields such as consulting, finance, hospitality, and more.  This dynamic environment is driving three very different technical career opportunities, addressed on the previous page.

The initiative prepares candidates for previously identified IT job opportunities. GIIM has developed a complete set of initiatives to help qualify, educate, match opportunities, and place skilled IT professionals in finding work with an outstanding future.

The four step process provides:

1. Qualification

Are you having difficulty translating military skills and expertise into today’s growing business information systems environment?

There may be a gap in the skills you have and the skills you need, to establish the career path you desire with the expertise your employer demands. You may not be using the key words that businesses currently use to describe the skills that you already have. We can help clarify those skills, identify any skills-gaps and give you a clear path forward to career success. This step will guide you in filling out your free, private Professional Qualification Profile and support from experienced mentors.

2. Opportunity

Do you need free and private access to new job opportunities that fit your skills and qualifications?

The model will privately match your skills and expertise with employers that are actively looking for people with your skills. Before you begin, a job opportunity has already been identified. By understanding the needs/gap between the candidate and the job opportunity, GIIM will provide the requisite education. There is no cost for vets.

3. Education

Do you need to sharpen or expand your skills to be more marketable in the private sector?

Global Institute for IT Management provides candidates with a comprehensive set of 35 information systems certificates that will prepare you for entry level to executive level careers. We help you get that additional experience that you need (see 1 above) and that opportunity that you deserve. GIIM helps prepare you for high-paying jobs that are in demand now and in the future. While some costs are associated with GIIM certification programs, they have been approved for use with the organizations such as the GI educational benefits programs.

4. Placement

Do you want to work in IT in the U.S.?

IT services/placement partners will have the job identified prior to the start of your education. A wide variety of IT skills are in demand to meet the evolving demands for these careers. Organizations need IT professionals with the appropriate set of skills NOW and in the Future.

GIIMs Workforce Development Bootcamp

Coding bootcamps were born out of necessity. Modeled after trade schools, bootcamps provide the tech industry with a pipeline of ambitious graduates armed with job-ready skills.

Whether it’s programming, cybersecurity or full-stack development, bootcamps teach students the skills they need to succeed in their digital careers. They can be designed to prepare candidates to enter the job market, or enhance an existing career.

Tech bootcamps are high-impact education courses that teach students practical, job-ready tech skills in a short amount of time. Bootcamps may also offer mentorship opportunities, personalized feedback and the ability for students to expand their professional network.

Most bootcamps offer fast-paced, immersive learning environments, usually taking a matter of months to complete. Coding bootcamps emphasize a practical teaching method that quickly progresses from foundational knowledge to the creative application of problem-solving skills. They have proven to be very effective,

In addition to teaching technical skills, bootcamps offer career preparation services to help students land jobs after graduation. Many provide career coaches and maintain official hiring partnerships.

Practical Learning

Bootcamps trim the fat when it comes to course requirements. If you want to learn about coding, then that’s what you will study—no electives or general education courses required.  Albeit it is usually geared for a specific job/placement opportunity.

Bootcamp classes are hyper-focused on teaching career-ready skills; class projects may require students to build a website from scratch or write code to operate a financial software program for a small business.

Flexibility

GIIM works with its affiliates in designing the content, schedule, and structure needed to succeed.

Career Preparation

Bootcamps equip students with job-ready skills. By enlisting seasoned tech professionals as teachers, candidates are well prepared to meet the challenges of candidates career.

Shorter Than a Degree

Bachelor’s degrees usually take four years of full-time study to complete. By comparison, the average length of a coding bootcamp is about 20 weeks.

Intensive Commitment

A bootcamp’s rigorous schedule is not for the faint of heart, often taking up at least 40 hours per week for a full-time, intensive program. A part-time program may require as few as five to 25 hours per week. Expect to spend most of these hours attending class meetings; completing individual assignments and group work often takes place outside of scheduled class time.
